Y&R Auckland scoops at the Art of the Envelope Awards
Y&R Auckland took home the metal at this year’s Art of the Envelope Awards, winning the Mailed Masterpiece category and earning a finalist in the Best in Show section.
Creatives Stacey Roper, Danny Brown and Vaughn Davis were responsible for the winning DM piece – a yellow PVC ‘raincoat’ envelope for BNZ. The raincoat envelope was designed to assure BNZ’s business customers that despite the dreary economic conditions, BNZ has you and your money covered.
But the category win wasn’t the only impression Y&R left on the AOTE awards evening. The finalist boards were dominated by Y&R’s work for BNZ and Microsoft, work that occupied no less than 8 finalist spots (Y&R’s nearest rival was specialist DM agency Rapp with 3 finalists).
Y&R CD Vaughn Davis said it underlined the agency’s intention to provide a complete, media-neutral creative offering for its clients, while not compromising an inch on specialist creative capabilities. “This result is a wake-up for specialist DM agencies – I think they’re painting themselves into a pretty small corner and that the real opportunities lie with shops that can take a client brief and turn out award-winning solutions in any medium.”
