Y&R work in the creative spotlight
Y&R Auckland campaigns and creative teams have been attracting a lot of attention at the moment. At the Newspaper Advertising Bureau’s Newspaper Ad of the Year Awards, we were one of only two agencies to have two finalists. Both were for Liquorland: our April Fool’s Day “Winepatch” ad and our Top 100 “1300 bottles” spot. (Read on for more about that one.)
Our work in newspapers has also been recognised across the Tasman, with two ads being named finalists at the upcoming Caxton Awards. Liquorland “1300 bottles” (which is also the only New Zealand ad this year to win a “Could be a Caxton” award) is joined by Microsoft Windows Vista “Fun up your home” to place Y&R Auckland second in the New Zealand finalists table.
Finally, great news for one of our creative teams, Matt Sellars and Cory Bellringer. Matt and Cory have won the August Monthly Young Guns award for their Microsoft Virus DM pack. The Monthly Young Guns award goes to the under-30 creative team that produces the most outstanding ad in any medium, anywhere in the world.
